2019 has been a very successful year for DesignInc, and the team has grown significantly, passing more than 100 employees. We are always delighted to bring new recruits into the DesignInc culture and have recently welcomed 21 architects and designers to the rail and aviation teams. They hail from Australia and around the world, and more than half are women as DesignInc continues to lead the way in gender diversity in the architectural industry.

Rail Team

Paul Wallace, Associate

Paul joins DesignInc as Associate, with more than 20 years’ experience across sectors and countries, including Australia, UK, Canada, South Africa, Finland and the Caribbean. He has in-depth understanding of construction technology and delivering complex projects, including contemporary design solutions for heritage projects.

Brian Novanto, Senior Architect

Brian is a NSW ARB and ARBV registered architect with experience and passion in transport, public architecture and accessibility design. He believes in designing smart, sustainable and responsible cities, while bringing a fresh and creative perspective to all its elements.

Con Kallos, Senior Designer

Con is a Senior Designer with more than 18 years’ experience in the public and private sectors, with projects ranging from heritage/commercial refurbishment, aged care facilities and mixed-use developments. He is committed to design excellence and innovation and his schemes for urban public spaces are aimed at achieving a high level of amenity for users and the broader community.

Anthony Weerakkody, Senior Designer

Anthony has more than 20 years’ experience in Australia and overseas, working across feasibility studies, architectural design development, design documentation and site and project management. His areas of expertise include commercial, residential, resort, education, transport and infrastructure for government, private institutions and client groups.

Sebastian Cardenas, Senior Designer

Sebastian has experience working in architecture and urban design with international experience in Australia, Colombia, USA, Italy and Panama. He is passionate about enhancing architectural and urban elements with sustainable concepts that contribute in a positive way towards the creation of smart cities.

Sabrina Noiraud, Project Designer

Sabrina is a Project Designer with more than six years’ experience in Australia and Europe, where she studied in Lyon and La Rochelle. Her expertise includes architectural documentation and design development across a variety of sectors including transport infrastructure, commercial and residential.

Jenina Bautista, Project Designer

Jenina is a Project Designer with 11 years’ experience working on 2D and 3D drawings for housing, mixed-use development and retail projects. Jenina works with the DesignInc team, clients and consultants to produce a variety of drawings, from sketches to Auto CAD and Revit.

Erwan Guyot, Project Designer

Erwan is a Project Designer with several years of professional experience in Australia and France, where he has worked on metro station and housing projects. Erwan is an efficient and creative member of the team with skills and experience in designing and detailing projects from concept stage through to detailed documentation.

Matthew Gold, Project Designer

Matthew is a Project Designer who has worked in a range of architectural practices, from sole practitioners to major international firms. He is an enthusiastic and dedicated team member, and passionate about all facets of the architecture, design and planning industry.

Vincent Weng, Project Designer

Vincent is a Project Designer and CGI visualiser, with more than seven years’ experience in the industry. He has worked across a range of projects types, from design development through to construction documentation, and produces 3D renders for visualising projects.

Sadia Afrose, Project Designer

Sadia is a Project Designer who has been working on transport projects for the last one year of her ten years’ experience. This includes Sydney Metro Greater West and Parramatta Light Rail. Sadia also has a proven track record in the design documentation of residential and recreational projects.

Architectural Graduates, Architectural Assistants and Design Technicians

We also welcome to the Rail team Architectural Graduates Mabel Ibekwe and Kiera Mendoza-Kehlet; Architectural Assistants Alicia Batt, Rebecca Gordon and John Lee; and Design Technicians Samuel Murray and Samantha Rich. We look forward to seeing them develop their architecture careers and are excited to be part of the journey.

 

Aviation Team

 

The number of air travellers is predicted to reach 7.2 billion passengers, nearly double the number recorded in 2016, and most of this will come from the Asia-Pacific region. There are major new airports being built across Australia, as well as upgrades to existing airports, including terminal amenities and parking and ground transport. DesignInc has welcomed three new members to the aviation team and we look forward to their contribution and involvement in this growing and in-demand sector.

Yvonne Chan, Architect

Yvonne Chan is a registered architect with experience across multiple sectors and the entire design process in medium and large multi-disciplinary practices. Yvonne is an agile problem solver and passionate about driving positive social and environmental impact by exploring innovative sustainable design and technology.

Beatriz Diaz, Project Designer

Beatriz has worked across diverse projects and typologies in architecture and urban design, as well as interior design and decoration. Moving to Sydney from Colombia in 2018, Beatriz brings international experience in project management and project design.

Jessica Cho, Architectural Assistant

Jessica is an Architectural Assistant, and an efficient and well-organised member of the aviation team. She has excellent graphic and creative skills that are proving to be of great advantage across a range of projects.
